Opening Year Prayer Day 01 (2018: My Year Of Great Celebration)

Posted on:January 6th, 2018

BRIEF INTROUDCTION:

THE THEME FOR OUR OPENING YEAR PRAYER IS 2018: MY YEAR OF GREAT CELEBRATION

OUR SLOGAN SHALL BE: WITH JESUS…I AM CELEBRATING ALL THE WAY.

Scripture says in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Everything has a beginning. This year we have chosen to begin with the Lord. We commit into God’s hand everything we shall do this year the spiritual development programs we have, capacity buildings, and infrastural developments, every program that will be done at the various organizations, societies and movements, all our decisions, aspirations and plans for the chaplaincy as well as we commit into God’s hand. May this year be a year of blessings and favours and great celebration for us in the name of Jesus.

As we begin this year’s opening prayer, there are two things I am going to give you from the sanctuary of the Lord. they are 1. Water and 2. Honey. We shall pray special psalms over them and on the last day we shall all come with a cup to collect from the sanctuary of the Lord.

The spiritual meaning of water:

  1. In John 4:14 Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring which will provide him with life giving water and give him eternal life.

Prayer: if there has been dryness in your life as you partake in faith in this water that will flow from the sanctuary of the Lord, every dryness in your life spiritual, physical, financially, morally, the Lord shall take it away in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. Acts 8:36-38: as they travelled down the road, they came to a place where there was sme water, and the official said, here is some water, what is to keep me from being baptized? The official ordered the carriage to stop and both Philip and the official went down the water, and Philip baptized him.”

Water is the medium through which baptism is performed, and it’s extremely fitting. Since water can symbolize cleansing and life, it is perfect to use in baptism. When someone gets baptized, they are submerged under the water for a second, and then come back up. The whole process shows an outward expression of a true inner value; the person is publicly declaring that they have new life in Jesus Christ. All of the past sins and mistakes are dead (symbolic in the act of submerging the person in water) and then raised in newness of life (symbolic in the act of raising the person back up from the water). It is an expression of what has taken place within the heart; a full cleansing and new life.

Prayer: this year I pray whatever has contaminated your life in 2017, this water will wash it off as the Ethiopian official (eunuch) was washed clean of his sins. You shall be washed clean of every filth that has contaminated you in 2017 and you shall begin to experience in 2018 abundant blessings, great and   unlimited joy this year in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. In Ezekiel 47:6-9 it says: then the man took me back to the bank of the river, and when I got there I saw that there were very many trees on each bank. He said to me, “this water flows through the land to the east and down into the Jordan valley and to the Dead Sea. When it flows into the Dead Sea, it replaces the salt water of that sea with fresh water. Wherever the stream flows there will be all kinds of animals and fish. The stream will make the water of the Dead Sea fresh, and wherever it flows, it will bring life.”

Prayer: I decree tonight as you will partake of this water at the end of the opening year prayer, every stagnation in your life, financial dryness, spiritual dryness and confusions, intimidations in your life, bad luck, satanic manipulations and infestations shall dry at its source and you shall become free, you shall experience total turn around, favour will begin to locate you and blessings will be so much that people will begin to wonder what a sudden change in your life and so shall it be in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Reason for giving you water from the sanctuary of the Lord

So, water points to Jesus in many ways. It symbolizes a cleansing which only Jesus can give, a new life which Jesus offers, and is used in baptism to showcase the acceptance of Jesus and the denial of self. The Old Testament shows this, too; it is not exclusive to a New Testament theology. The point to take away, however, is that water does an excellent job at revealing Jesus, who claims to be the Living Water. It is He, and He alone, who can quench the thirsty souls in this world. The fact that water is used symbolically and powerful in the Scriptures just aids in showing us how beautifully written it is and how amazing Jesus is!

The second thing I shall give you is Honey: That honey denotes delight is because it is sweet, and everything sweet in the natural world corresponds to what is delightful and pleasant in the spiritual world. The reason why it is called its delight, that is, the delight of truth from good in the physical, is that every truth and especially every truth of good has its own delight; but a delight from the affection of these, and from the derivative use.

  1. In Isaiah 7:14-15- scripture says, “well then, the Lord himself will give you a sign: a young woman who is pregnant will have a son and will name him IMMANUEL. By the time he is old enough to make his own decisions, people will be drinking milk and eating honey.”

It simply means because of the Lords presence the people will be delighted.

Prayer: if your life has been filled with soar experiences, this year you shall begin to experience joy in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. Is 7:21-22- scripture says “when that time comes, even if a farmer has been able to save only one young cow and two goats, they will give so much milk that he will have all he needs. Yes, the few survivors left in the land will have milk and honey to eat.”

Prayer: this year no matter the recession in the country, you shall have enough to eat. As you taste this honey from the sanctuary of the Lord, bitterness and pain will not be your portion this year 2018 rather you will be delighted because the Lord is with you and will surprise will much open doors this year in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. The manna that Jacob's posterity had for bread in the wilderness is thus described in Moses:--

The manna was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like a cake kneaded with honey (Exod. 16:31);

as the manna signified the Divine truth that descended through heaven from the Lord, it consequently signified the Lord Himself as to the Divine Human, as He Himself taught us in (John 6:51, 58); for it is the Lord's Divine Human from which all Divine truth comes.

The manna was described to be of great delight and pleasant by the taste, to the point that scripture says that it was like a cake kneaded with honey. The taste denotes the delight of good and the pleasantness of truth.

Prayer: every truth that has been covered, lies told against you and your household, the lord shall uncover them and reveal the truths about you and your household in the name of Jesus.

So on the last day, I will like you to come along with a cup so that you may scoop from the sanctuary of the Lord, your own water and with your index finger, have a taste of the honey from the sanctuary of the Lord. I pray this turns situations for you in the name of Jesus.

MESSAGE FOR DAY ONE

THEME: THE DELIVERANCE OF THE LORD IS THE CAUSE OF OUR JOY.

SCRIPTURAL PASSAGE: PSALM 126:1-2, 2 Tim. 4:17

“WHEN THE LORD BROUGHT US BACK TO JERUSALEM, IT WAS LIKE A DREAM! HOW WE LAUGHED, HOW WE SANG FOR JOY! THEN THE OTHER NATIONS SAID ABOUT US, THE LORD DID GREAT THINGS FOR THEM. INDEED HE DID GREAT THINGS FOR US; HOW HAPPY WE WERE.”

Dear friends, there are many things that God will do in your life this year that will make you be filled with laughter. Child of God you will become speechless and amazed. You will be filled with inner strength, inner satisfaction, inner contentment, you will be satisfied such that earthly food will not matter so much to you only joy will be your food, you won’t stop singing. You will move from one man to another man recounting the good things of the Lord in your life.

The blessings will be so much that it will wipe off the memory of the years of your sorrows. You will go to A and you will say my brother, ah! God is Good!!! You will go to B and you will say God is wonderful!!!, you will go to C and you will say abeg make una join me celebrate because the blessings will be so much that you will be running away from it and it will be running after you.

You will receive recognition higher than that of governors and presidents because you will become so important that men and women will wear out your door steps with celebration.

As you will move from point A to Point B, all that will be following you is favour upon favour. You will ask yourself who am I? And the Lord will answer from the deep “…you are my son, my favour rests upon you.”

That favour cannot be stolen because it will be too much for the devil to handle. He can’t even come close because your blessings will be surrounded by dazzling light that will blind them. You will shine brighter than the stars. As you walk, Grace of the Lord will be upon you, an anointing of blessings following you wherever you go. When you speak, you will speak gracefully. People will be filled with wonder saying is this not Mr. Ejike again.

The blessings will be so much that people will have no choice than to identify with you and follow after the things you do.

I decree from this sanctuary to the ONE that will shout the loudest amen that will be your testimony in 2018 in the name of Jesus.

If in 2017 you struggled, this year you will not struggle in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If in 2017 you were embarrassed, this year you will be celebrated and honoured in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If in 2017 you were accused wrongly, this year you shall be free of every form of accusations in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If in 2017, you cried, this year will laugh louder than ever in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If in 2017, you were petitioned, in 2018 that petition will become the reason for you been honoured in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If in 2017, you were in debts, in 2018 you shall come out of those debts and make great financial progress and improvements in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If in 2017, you were in bondage whether spiritual or physical, in 2018 you were not created to be in bondage therefore in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that bondage is broken!!! Amen.

If in 2017, you were laughed at and mocked and humiliated, in 2018, your enemies will be confounded as they watch you take positions of honour and great recognition. They will see you seated in the company of great men and women in the name of Jesus. Amen.

In 2018, the enemy will not have any reason to rejoice over you rather you will rejoice over them for your God is intentional and everything will work for your good in 2018 in the name of Jesus.

Let the band lead us in the anthem for this years’ opening prayer. Let everyone rise and claim the blessings of this song by Trevis Greene for yourself, your business, your children, your husband, your family and everything that concerns you, for our great chaplaincy!!!!

You see dear friends scripture is filled with references of men and women that were saved from the jaws of lions, men and women that people thought they could trample under foot, men and women who were considered nothing became rulers and shakers of the world.

  1. Child of God the first on the list is Joseph in Genesis 37. He suffered so much but God lifted him from his troubles. This year, the Lord shall lift you from all your troubles in the name of Jesus. Scriptures tells us that his brothers were envious of because of his good standing with the father, also because he was a man of dreams. They plotted how to do away with him, they actually sold him out to Ishmaelites traveling from Gilead to Egypt and lied to their father that a wild animal came to devour him.

While he was in Egypt in chapter 39, the Lord was with Joseph every inch of the way, he was given charge over Potiphar’s household. And because of Joseph, the Lord blessed Potiphar’s household. His refusal to succumb to the demands of Potiphar’s wife landed him in Jail because he was lied against. There again the Lord favoured in the hands of the jailer as he was able to interpret the dreams of the jailer and soon after wards the dream of the King. This took him to a very high position- second in command in all of Egypt. This attracted good things to him as well as the Land of Egypt as he was able to save them from famine. Nations came to Egypt to buy food from them and on one occasion he encountered his brothers who sold him out into slavery for no just good reason but for jealousy and the spirit of the Lord was upon him that led him to forgive them and he brought his whole family into Egypt and this saved them from starvation.

Prayer: Child of God, the man or woman who is jealous of you, God will so use the person to position you in your rightful position in life in the name of Jesus.

  1. Another is Bartimaeus- in Mark 10:46-52. The crowds tried to stop him but he cried out the louder and the Lord said to the crowd call him. That same crowd that tried to stop him was the same crowd God used to bring him to Jesus. He received his sight and followed the Lord.

Prayer: I say today, maybe you have been denied your rightful position, marginalized, humiliated, and prevented from rising because of certain men and women in your company and place of work, I speak from this sanctuary of the Lord, those same persons who have humiliated you, by spoiling your name for no just reason, from this night onward they shall be restless as the Lord the God you serve will give them an assignment to go round the same people they have spoken ill about you and begin to say positive things about you in the name of Jesus.

  1. Another is Zacchaeus in Lk 19:1-10. Zacchaeus was despised because he was a tax collector, but the Lord saved him from shame and disgrace and said to him Zacchaeus come down today I must feast in your house.

Prayer: you may be feeling that you are unappreciated maybe because of the sins you have committed, you may feel like an outcast but tonight the lord is rewriting your wrongs and make a way for you in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. Another is the woman with the issue of Blood in Matthew 9:20-22. She had been bed ridden for 12 years and no one could come close to her. Most probably there was a foul odour which came from and prevented people from coming close to her. But she was not ashamed. She simply said if I could touch the herm of his garment, I will be made well. And she became well the moment she touched the garment of Jesus with faith. Jesus said, who touched my garment?

Prayer: tonight as you pray with faith, your sickness has dried up, your diseases are no more in the name of Jesus.

  1. Another is the woman caught in adultery John 8:1-11. She was humiliated because of her sins. They gathered her so that they could stone her to death because of her sins not minding that they also were sinners but the Lord stepped in and said he that is without sin let him be the first to cast a stone and they began to leave one after the other.

Prayer: the Lord shall be merciful to you and grant you pardon of all your sins and bring you to safety as he delivers you from every accusation from the pit of hell in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. Daniel 6 tells us the story of Daniel who was thrown into the lion’s Den because he wouldn’t stop praying to his God. He was envied because he prospered in everything he did. They were envious because of his prosperity and conspired against him before the King. He was thrown into the lion’s Den. But that didn’t stop Daniel from praying even while in the lion’s Den. His prayers made the lions befriend him, became a pillow for him when he fell asleep. The Lord so favoured Daniel that the king became restless and in the morning he rushed to the den and found that Daniel was safe. The king ordered that he brought out and those who told lies against him be thrown into the Lion’s Den.

Prayer: The lord never forgets those who pray to him night and day and he has assured us in Psalm 91:15-call upon me in time of trouble and I will answer you. Tonight those who have conspired against you, are still conspiring against you in your place of work, shame and disgrace shall be their lot in the name of Jesus.

All the evil plans they have laid down for you, they shall be entangled by the snares they have laid for you and your household in the name of Jesus.

Those who plan on kidnapping you, they will not see you talk more of coming close to you. Anywhere they go to mention your name, the fire of the Holy Ghost shall chase them into repentance and if they don’t repent, disaster will be their lot in the name of Jesus.

  1. Pharaoh and his chariots boasted in their gods and in their powers to wipe out the children of Israel.  Little did he know that the Lord was on their side, and then they came in contact with the red sea, Moses the servant of the Lord was afraid as he didn’t know what to do. He looked up to the heavens and the Lord told him to stretch out his rod and he did. In the meantime he told the children of Israel…stand your ground be not afraid, the Egyptians you see today, you shall see them no more. And so the red sea opened and the children of Israel walked on dry ground whereas pharaoh, the Lord caused darkness to befall them and their wheels clogged in the mud and the waters of the red sea swallowed them.

Prayers: from this day the Egyptians that have been chasing you, keeping you uncomfortable since you ascended that position you occupy in your working place, it ends tonight for the Lord your God will begin the battle with them. Your God will fight them to stand still. They will hear your name and great fear will possess them. They will see you and be terrified. The lord shall give them a special assignment to become your ambassadors to spread the good things that the Lord is doing and working through you in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  1. Sometimes the enemy becomes too full of themselves that they boast and make empty threats against God’s anointed and his children. Child of God I want you to be certain of this that your God is never asleep. He will keep fighting for you as long as you don’t stop worshipping him because of the rubbish men of our time do. Your God is so powerful and he can use anything or anyone to save you from shame and embarrassment.

In the second book of the Kings 7:5-6, the four lepers went to the camp of the Syrians but when they reached it, no one was there. The Lord had made the Syrians here what sounded like the advance of a large army, with horses and chariots, and the Syrians thought that the King of Israel had hired Hittite and Egyptians kings and their armies to attack them. so that evening the Syrians had fled for their lives, abandoning their tents, horses, and donkeys, and leaving the camp just as it was. The four lepers reached there and ate to their satisfaction.

Prayer: tonight I decree that your enemies shall be thrown into confusion as they see you moving higher. They shall be forced to worship your God and celebrate with you in the name of Jesus.

PSALMS FOR PRAYING OVER WATER

  1. John 4:14- oh Lord who said that whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst but the water that I will him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.-

Pour forth thy blessings upon this water and let it become for us living water always.

  1. Isaiah 44:3-for I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground, I will pour out my spirit on your offspring and my blessings on your descendants.

Oh Lord we pray as we partake of this water, let it bring renewal and rejuvenation on your people so that cleansed of every evil they may come to great joy and peace we ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
