Christmas Message 2017

Posted on:December 30th, 2017

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

I greet you all with the peace and love of Christ who is the reason for the season. Beloved in Christ, as I write, I reminisce on the year 2017 and I have many reasons to give God great thanks for us all. The year 2017 had its challenges as well as its nice moments but we were able to weather through these and we thank God for his immense blessings upon us throughout the year 2017.

I really want to say a big “Thank You” to everyone who have positively and sincerely worked hard both openly and silently to help build our great Chaplaincy, honestly, you were all wonderful. Please do not relent in your efforts. I earnestly pray that God will immensely bless you all in the name of Jesus!!!

Dear friends, as we celebrate let us use this Christmas to renew ourselves, rededicate ourselves to God and as our Holy Father Pope Francis has said, Christmas is you when you decide to be born again each day and let God into your soul…the Christmas greeting is you, when you forgive and re-establish peace, even when you suffer…you are, yes, Christmas night when humble and conscious, you receive in the silence of the night the saviour of the world without noise or great celebrations; you are a smile of trust and tenderness, in the inner peace of a perennial Christmas that establishes the Kingdom within you.

Let us remember to ask ourselves, what resolutions are my willing to make in the coming year. One resolution I may suggest to everyone to add to his or her personal resolutions is make a conscious decision in the year 2018 and beyond “TO BECOME INVOLVED IN BUIDLING OUR GREAT CHAPLAINCY. DON’T DESTROY IT RATHER HELP BUILD IT.” THE REWARDS ARE OF INESTIMABLE VALUE BOTH TO YOU PERSONALLY AND AS A FAMILY UNITED IN LOVE!!!

I wish those who intend for this Christmas journey mercies to and fro and whether you are staying in Lagos or traveling, may we all celebrate this Christmas in good health both in mind and in body in the name of Jesus. Amen. As you eat and dine and make visits, remember God in all you do. Remember, we have an opening year prayer which will span from 6th -14th January, 2018. Come and let’s pray our way into the beautiful year that God has given us. We shall also commence the prayers for vocations and priests in the chaplaincy as a way of asking God to kindle that spark in the hearts of the young men and women to serve him in the priestly and religious life. We ask that we all say these prayers in union with the chaplaincy in our respective homes.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in Advance!!!
